Imaging the roboRIO
Where do I get this year’s image?
Section titled “Where do I get this year’s image?”To download the most recent roboRIO image, you must install the new game tools. Once you do, they’ll be there.
To find it, open the roboRIO Imaging tool. Click on the gray folder labeled SD, and maybe even copy that filepath if you need to. Extract the image from the .zip file, and (if you need to) put it somewhere you can find it.
Imaging
Section titled “Imaging”Eject the microSD card from your roboRIO by pushing down on it. Using a USB-A-to-microSD dongle (we have one in the lab for 3d printing) connect the microSD card to your device.
Open Balena Etcher, and select Flash image from file. Find the image you extracted earlier, and select it.
Next, select your dongle. In my experience, it’s been called mass storage device. If you don’t see it, check hidden options. If it’s still not apppearing, check your USB port.
Next, flash your image onto the microSD.
Safely eject the dongle and unplug it from your device. Then, take the microSD card out and put it back into your roboRIO.
Plug your device into the roboRIO and use the roboRIO Imaging tool to ensure it’s up-to-date.
